Interior design

Interior design: thinking about space, revealing the essential

Interior design is more than just decorating a space. It's the art of designing functional, aesthetic, and harmonious interior spaces, taking into account technical constraints, volumes, uses, and emotions. Halfway between interior architecture and decoration, interior design acts as a link between the structure and the soul of a space.

A sensitive, creative and personalized approach

I'm Lydwine Martin, founder of Mar Interior Design, an interior designer and traditional Feng Shui consultant.

My approach to interior design is based on:

  • a detailed reading of the space (light, circulation, materials),

  • a deep understanding of my clients' needs,

  • and a holistic vision of interior design, enriched by Traditional Feng Shui.

Each project I support is an encounter between aesthetics and well-being, between balance of forms and fluidity of energies.

Interior design and interior architect: what are the differences?

It's common to confuse the roles of interior designer and interior architect. While their missions may overlap, notably in the layout of spaces or the choice of materials, there is an essential difference: the interior architect, in the strict sense, holds a state-approved training qualification, with the ability to intervene on structural elements. The interior designer, on the other hand, works within these limits, but can manage an entire development project right through to site supervision, provided no major transformation is required. If structural modifications are required, the interior designer will defer to the contractor managing the site, or to the architect in charge.

This is where I come in: as an independent interior designer, I design interior spaces that combine functionality, comfort and a strong visual identity, without ever claiming a regulated title.

Interior design and interior well-being

Interior design emphasizes the creative and strategic dimensions of interior design. It perfectly expresses my approach, which combines a sense of aesthetics, rigorous design and energetic sensitivity.

Thanks to my dual role as Interior Designer and Traditional Feng Shui Consultant, I bring a deeper understanding of places, in relation to their vibration, orientation and the invisible interactions they provoke on our well-being.
