Feng Shui

its history, its precepts
and its benefits

Feng Shui is a Taoist science founded in China 5,000 years ago, which is based on thousands of years of observation. Among the traditional Chinese arts founded at the same time, we find, among others, traditional Chinese medicine (acupuncture, pharmacopoeia, Qi Gong, etc.) and martial arts.

Feng Shui is also the art of living in harmony with one's environment to improve the different areas of one's life:

Ensure good health, bring harmony to relationships, consolidate the couple, the family, support career, education or professional projects, boost wealth and prosperity, help personal development and spirituality, prevent harmful influences, accidents, discord...

Le Feng Shui

Feng Shui, which literally means WIND and WATER, is based on the study of the sky and the Earth in constant interaction with man. It consists of living in harmony with one's environment. By living in harmony, we are able to harness energies (known as Qi) to improve our lives.

By studying the sky, the planets and the Earth, the Taoist masters understood that everything was linked in terms of time (the different moments, the seasons, the cycles) and space (the location, the different orientations, the configuration of the landscape). Man, who is an integral part of this great “All”, is also directly impacted by this universal law.

Indeed, in Chinese Taoist thought, everything is linked, therefore Everything has an impact on Everything. To take advantage of the best energies (the Sheng Qi), and counter the bad ones (the Sha Qi), you just need to know how to identify them and adapt to them.

Good Feng Shui depends on two main factors: a thorough understanding of traditional theories as well as good skills in applying the formulas.

In Eastern countries, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia, where this art is practiced at a high level, Feng Shui masters are hired by large companies as consultants, to help them design buildings , town plans and houses, in order to guarantee prosperity in their businesses.

Good Feng Shui masters are sought after for their valuable advice before making important decisions such as signing important contracts, the launch date of a product or an event such as a wedding for example, moving into new premises and even the hiring of new employees.

SAN CAI
“The 3 chances”

Please bear in mind that Feng shui is not a miracle cure. Taoism is based on the principle that everyone's life is influenced by "Three Chances" (San Cai): the Luck of Heaven, Earth and Man.

This Chinese philosophy explains to us that we have a 2/3 chance of being happy and doing well.

The luck of Heaven which counts for 1/3 cannot be changed (for example, your date, place and time of birth, the family into which you were born, your social, economic, cultural environment at your birth).

On the other hand, if man does not take any action, by his own will, to improve his life (man's luck) and he does not take advantage of the forces of the environment (earth's luck or Feng Shui), then it will be very difficult to improve your daily life and realize your projects.

SKY

The will of heaven accounts for a third of our success.

Tien, sky in Chinese, represents our destiny or our Karma. We can't change it because we simply don't have control over it. It is the will of Heaven.

Heaven's Luck is predetermined by the day of our birth and the alignment of the planets in the sky. It is for this reason that Feng Shui also relies on Ba Zi (form of Chinese astrology) to understand our energy profile and take advantage of the positive periods and cycles of our life.

MAN

Man's actions and behavior can also change 1/3 of his destiny.

Ren, represents our humanity and the things over which we have control, our will, our free will, our ability to move forward in life, question ourselves and seize opportunities. The choices and decisions we make have a determining role in our destiny.

So we can choose how we want to go through life.

EARTH

The Earth, represented by Feng Shui, also helps to increase our potential for success.

Ti, the Earth, refers to where we live, where we live, work, our neighborhood, city, country, etc.

Our well-being depends on earthly luck because these places influence our quality of life. They motivate us, support us or, on the contrary, slow us down in our projects. This is where Feng Shui will act by exploiting the natural forces of our environment.

The origins
of Feng Shui

This science originated in rural China when early farmers began studying their landscape, seasons, weather, and many other factors to try to understand the environment in which they lived.

They observed how rivers changed courses, the strength of the currents, when the sun was high or low, the quality of its heat, and which areas of land were saturated, fertile, or parched and why. Noting the times and quality of how these different energies interacted together, this knowledge became sophisticated and elevated to the level of scientific discipline.

This approach consisted of understanding the actions of Heaven and Earth, and how humans could successfully integrate into these processes . Their refined expertise came from the pure sense of observation and the product of their daily practices. This knowledge helped them build their homes in the best positions, facing the most beneficial directions. They increased their harvests in places where it was more likely to have high yields. They have successfully survived in sometimes hostile environments and their communities have managed to thrive.

In cities, they learned to augment the energies of winding rivers and deep estuaries, to benefit from the protection of mountains and flat lands to combine them in more productive ways.
